I just found out that Star Wars is coming to Blu-ray next year. I’ve been wondering when that’d happen and looks like 2011 is it! I can hear the rejoicing amongst Star Wars fans all over the world already… heh heh.
I know, I know, I haven’t blogged in ages so I guess I better say a few words after turning 32 last Tuesday.
Before I ramble on I really wanna thank everyone who were a part of making my birthday a really good one this year. I’m overwhelmed by the number of Facebook messages and SMSes that came in. Some were early, some were on time and some were late but the thought that went into it really showed.
Here are some highlights in bulleted form so that I don’t bore any of you with too many words. 😛
- An early birthday cake on the 3rd of March when I popped by a cell group that was meeting at my buddy J-son’s house.
- A feast of gourmet sausages and pasta with the members of my Mentoring & Accountability Group on 8th March. Thanks guys for all the birthday wishes and the eat the cake with candle challenge! And thanks for the blessings that you wished upon me.
- My actual birthday started off with a boatload of Facebook messages, SMSes and the present of a laptop bag from my brother Luke. There were some calls throughout the day too. It was marred somewhat by my cough but on the whole I had a great day with the treat of a banana chocolate cake and a Star Wars Homing Spider Droid from my colleagues. I capped it off with a nice black pepper crab dinner with my family before succumbing to my cough that had me sick leave on Wednesday and Thursday.
- Last but not least, my subzone mates celebrated my birthday on Friday with some pressies and really awesome Birthday Tag Book that was handmade by my best bud’s wife. She’s even got a YouTube video up that explains what it all means. Thanks guys!
Last but not least I wanna thank God cos’ my mom (who has been struggling through a very bad eye infection) was a whole lot better on my birthday; which is the best birthday gift of all. There were many other things that I could’ve asked God for but I decided that the best birthday gift would be to have mom better and I’m thankful that He answered that prayer.
Anyways, thank you everyone for making my birthday a good one. I wish all of you many good things too in whatever place of life you’re in!
Really good fun and I must say that Zac Efron’s a really good actor. I could really believe that he was an adult turned 17 again. Star Wars, LOTR and video game fans don’t miss out on this one cos’ you’ll really get the jokes in this comedy. I laughed a lot and the Star Wars cracks made me laugh really hard. Great fun! The run’s already ending I guess so if you can catch this one do it soon!

A decent game. Although I did end it at the lowest difficulty setting JUST because I wanted to know the story quickly that bridges Episodes III & IV. The story did NOT disappoint. Vader’s secret apprentice certainly makes for a more interesting character compared to emotionless Hayden Christiansen in the movies. Being able to use the Force in ramped up ways made the game an OK playthrough. Definitely a must have for Star Wars fans. The story is worth the price of admission.
It’s now time to play the game slowly at a higher difficulty setting and take my time to look for all the Holocrons that are scattered throughout the levels. Plus get to use what Force powers that I’ve already upgraded on the Apprentice.
May the Force be with you.

I had a pretty good day despite my upset plans to go to Ipoh to visit someone who’s battling a brain tumour. Caught Clone Wars in the cinema on my own … it was freezing but all in all it was a good afternoon of Jedi, Sith, Clone Troopers and Droids battling out over alien landscapes.
Made it to church too (although I sadly missed the entire worship) and heard a really awesome sermon by Pastor Peter Tsukahira which for some reason made me cry as I was deeply reminded about God being a promise-keeping God. And it was all done through scripture and proof of God bringing Israel back together as a nation after being scattered all over the world and experiencing the horrors of the Holocaust during WWII. I went up for prayer and well … I just couldn’t stop crying because of the great sense of God’s faithfulness.
And guess what? When I got home I learnt that Avril is OFFICIALLY on! Stadium Merdeka here I come!!! Oh yeah!!! I had included it in my prayer requests this week to the cell and they we all prayed for it; the best thing is that my prayer sec had highlighted my prayer request for Avril to be on and well … here’s an answer to my prayer! I’ve already taken the 29th off and now all I need is someone to go with me. Yay!
AVRIL HERE I COME!!!
Star Wars. Sigh. There’s just something about Star Wars that always brings me back to my childhood. It’s one of the earliest movies I remember as a kid. I had some toys from the franchise when I was about 5 or 6. I remember this huge Boba Fett that I had (which has inexplicably gone missing) and a 6inch Luke Skywalker in Cloud City garb. Star Wars was the coolest and as a kid it was just a wonder to watch Jedi duels and space battles. I LOVE Star Wars and I guess I always will.
This year is going to be a gala year for Star Wars fans with the release of the upcoming Clone Wars animated feature that’s hitting the silver screen in a few weeks time. The Jedi are also making their presence felt in video games with Darth Vader & Yoda making guest appearances in Soulcalibur IV! And of course we’ve got The Force Unleashed making its way onto all major consoles this September. What’s exciting about The Force Unleashed is the fact that the storyline sits in between Episode III and Episode IV. Plus we are introduced the Vader’s secret apprentice! The games looks really awesome with lots of action utilising a physics engine and the Force! Good stuff. Lots of toys are out too … so keep an eye out for Clone Wars and The Force Unleashed merchandise at a toy store near you!
I never liked Darth Vader much until I was much older (weird I know) but I suppose I was the sort of kid who always rooted for the good guy instead of the bad guy. My first ever best bud (Marvin Yee) loved Darth Vader tho. But anyways … Darth Vader is a much more complex character and now that I’m an adult, the greys of life are a lot more apparent. Of course there is still black & white, right & wrong but so many things are different shades of grey. Life isn’t as clear cut as the movies and yet many a time we are called to draw the line somewhere. To make decisions. To choose. In a world that is as broken as ours, can we make good, right choices? Can we think of others and in some ways be like the Jedi? Selfless rather than selfish? More likely we strike a balance in between caring for ourselves and caring for others. A tenuous balance that can be easily broken.
It’s getting late … time to hit the sack. Till next time … May the Force be with You.
