Iron Man 2 a Second Time Around

Good day True Believers!

The weekend’s come and gone but here’s a memento to remember Iron Man 2 courtesy of MySciFiOutpost having 2 dudes dressed up as Iron Man & War Machine in 1U. Heh.

Iron Man, War Machine & Me

Iron Man, War Machine & Me

Surprisingly my 2nd watch with my some of my cellies was a lot enjoyable than my first. I must say that part of my disappointment with Iron Man 2 was the fact that I loved Iron Man so much and my expectations was really high. I suspected that a 2nd watch would be better and I was right!

In hind-sight I think Jon Favreau did a good job with the movie but I still have an utter disdain for the birthday party scene in which Tony Stark gets drunk in his armour. That scene leaves a huge distaste in my mouth. Yucks! It’s an awful scene. Iron Man 2’s a keeper for sure cos’ I’ll definitely pick it up on Blu-ray when it comes out which speaks a lot for the movie actually despite my initial review.

Have a good weekend ya’ll, And if you haven’t yet caught Iron Man 2 do lower your expectations or better yet have no expectations at all cos’ you’ll enjoy the movie a whole lot more with that mindset. Also, don’t forget to wait for the credits to play out for a lead-in to Marvel Studio’s upcoming big super-hero release in 2011.

Celebrating Iron Man Month with More Wallpaper

Iron Man 2 (Movie Review)

Iron Man 2

Iron Man 2

A not too bad watch but it didn’t my expectations plot-wise and I couldn’t identify as much with Tony Stark this time round.

Iron Man 2 had the requisite big bang slugfests which was a treat to watch on the big screen. Unfortunately the very thing that made the 1st movie a big hit with me was missing in this one. Tony Stark wasn’t as likeable as the first one and if I were to sum it up in one sentence I’d say this:

“Iron Man 2 lacks heart. It lacks the humanity that made the 1st one click.”

To be fair. The movie’s still a great watch and I did watch it in the comfort of GSC’s Gold Class hall in Mid Valley Megamall. I won’t spoil anything for anyone by revealing anything of the plot so I guess you guys will just have to watch it and judge it for yourselves. I’ll still get the Blu-ray though cos’ it’s a great special effects movie and the Iron Man armour is still very much the star of the show.

I give Iron Man 2 a decent 4 out of 5 stars.

Rating: 4 Stars (out of 5)

Iron Man 2 TONITE! Yeah!

Yay yay! Iron Man 2 is on tonite! We’ve got our tickets. We’re all revved up for it and it’s systems GO for a repulsor-driven rocket ride to adventure at the cinemas tonight! Jon Favreau, you’re our only hope!

To celebrate the opening of Iron Man 2 in Malaysia, here are two more wallpapers made just for phones with a 480 by 640 resolution that’d fit most smartphones. I made them a couple of days ago courtesy of images I found off Marvel.com that feature the artwork of Iron Man fan fav Adi Granov.

Fully painted artwork always leaves me with a sense of awe. I don’t know if Granov works with traditional mediums or if he’s into digital-painting but I’m sure you’d agree with me that his work is pretty phenomenal. No one comes close to him when it comes to illustrating ol’ Shellhead.

Enjoy!

Iron Man Science Pt. 2

Iron Man Science Continues

Iron Man Science Continues

Iron Man Month continues with a brand new article on the science behind Tony Stark’s armour. This time Ryan Haupt  takes a look at the user interface (UI) in Iron Man’s suit and some possible tech that could be used to control it.

Have a read of the article here.

On another note, I already have my tickets for Iron Man 2 and am so looking forward to catching it tomorrow. Expectations are running high for this one and I’m kicking my fingers crossed that Jon Favreau does a great job with the sequel or does a one-up on the 1st Iron Man flick.
