A superb game that captures the essence of what Fallout is all about. Tack on Bethesda’s flair for creating an open world and you’ve got one huge game that gives the player a tonne to do.
Putting the game into first person was a decision well made and the FPS-styled gameplay benefited Fallout 3 tremendously and the inclusion of V.A.T.S. (a Fallout hallmark) made the game even more memorable.
I must admit that the ending of the game wasn’t that satisfying but that’s just a minor quibble on my part. All in all Bethesda have certainly proven that they are worthy successors to carry on the legacy of Fallout that began over 10 years ago with Interplay’s original game.
I give it a 5 out of 5.
